LTCDR Bob Jamieson, Cadet Unit Commander

LTCDR Penelope Hodder, XO, Admin & Stores Officer

LT Milo Coldren,  previous Cadet Unit Commander
Lieutenant Coldren is passionate about sharing the freedom and excitement of the sea. He sailed to NZ from Canada with his wife Kimberly and joined TS Talisman in January 2003. They now run a yacht charter business from Nelson when not having a blast with their fantastic kids, or tutoring maritime skills.  He's sailed extensively throughout the Atlantic and Pacific commercially, competitively, and recreationally, and is proud to call Nelson home.

Mr Brett Daniel-Smith, Matahorua Officer
Mr. Daniel-Smith's interest in helping out with Cadets is largely due to the fact that he is slowing down with work as a busy criminal litigation lawyer and will hopefully have more time on his hands. He has maintained a healthy interest in all things nautical for most of his life. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he was a commercial fisherman and diver and holds a Commercial Launch Master qualification. He is a keen sailor having completed in the two handed Round NZ Yacht Race, and is interested in helping youth who have a positive attitude to life.

Mrs.Sharon Guiflord, Admin Assistant and Unit Historian

Ms Julia Verjkuil, Assistant Stores

On leave:
Ens Jake Vanderburg,
Ensign Vanderburg was a cadet at Nelson College in his youth, and joined the Army as a Territorial. He has sailed recreationally most his life, and works as a diesel engine fuel injection specialist.  He is in charge of all the TS TALISMAN boats and boatshed, and is also our Gunnery Officer. He is married with an adult daughter, and enjoys spending time with his family.
